It seems that all the children of James and Elizabeth were probably born in Wanborough but Christened in nearby Compton, the next parish (an alternative for the small population was Puttenham, an adjoining parish also. However, the Puttenham church was burned in 1735). The local church in Wanborough fell into disrepair in the mid-17th century.
