Will of James Stevens of Wokeing in the County of Surry Mercer being but of indifferent health but of sound and perfect mind memory and understanding ... to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named And as touching such worldly Estate wherewith Almighty God has bestowed on me I give and dispose thereof as follows Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my loving Wife Sarah the sum of four hundred pounds to be paid in the first place out of my personall Estate Item I give and bequeath unto my Son James Stevens the sum of Six hundred pounds to be paid unto him when he shall attain to his Age of one and twenty years Item I give and bequeath unto my daughters Sarah and Mary the severall sums of Two hundred and fifty pounds apiece to be paid unto them when they severally attain their severall Age of one and twenty years or day of Marriage which shall first happen the three within Legacies last mentioned my Will and Meaning is shall within Six Months after my decease be paid into the hands of my loving friends Owen Porter and Joseph Roake and by them placed out at Interest in the best manner they can And the Interest thereof to be paid unto my loving Wife Sarah towards the Educating and bringing up of my said Children so long as she will suffer them to live with her untill they severally become intitled to their severall Legacies as aforesaid and in case my said Children James Sarah and Mary shall all happen to dye before they become intitled to their said Legacies that then their Legacies shall be disposed of as follows (viz.) To the Son of my Brother Thomas Stevens the sum of one hundred pounds and the residue to be equally divided between the Children of my Brothers in Law Owen Porter and Nathaniell Atfield and if my said Brother Thomas's son shall dye before he attains to one and twenty years of Age that then the one hundred pounds given to him shall in manner aforesaid be divided between the Children of my said Brothers Owen Porter and Nathaniell Atfield And I doe hereby charge my Executrix to pay the Legacies given to my Children as aforesaid into the hands of the said Owen Porter and Joseph Roake in manner as aforesaid Item I doe nominate and desire my said loving friends Owen Porter and Joseph Roake to be Trustees and Overseers of this my last Will to see the same duly performed Item I doe nominate and appoint my said loving Wife Sarah sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament to whom I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my Goods Chattles and personall Estate whatsoever And I doe hereby declare this to be my last Will and Testament revoking all former Wills by me made In Witness whereof I the said James Stevens have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and Seal the Seventh day of Aprill in the Tenth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Queen Ann of Great Brittain &r and in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Eleven.
